FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
About what Meni is (and isn't)
Meni is a companion tool designed to help you log your daily experience, identify patterns, and better understand how certain habits, contexts, or decisions affect how you feel.
No. Meni doesn't diagnose, prescribe treatments, or replace consultations with health professionals. It's meant as a support tool so you arrive better informed to those conversations.
Currently, Meni is focused on people with vestibular disorders or related symptoms, especially those who want to better understand their day-to-day and its evolution.
Because even simple logs can help you see things that currently slip by unnoticed, and because your experience can help improve the tool and generate more knowledge about these disorders.
About how it works
No. You can message it whenever you need to. Even irregular logs can provide valuable information over time.
Meni guides you to log what we consider the most relevant points: symptoms, activities, moods, medication, exercise, food. Beyond these areas, you can log anything else you feel influences how you're doing.
If logging your symptoms, habits, or emotions causes you anxiety, distress, or makes you feel worse, we recommend pausing your use of Meni and consulting a professional.
Meni isn't the first step for everyone, and that's okay. For some people, the first step is getting support to develop the tools needed to observe their own health without it becoming overwhelming. When that time comes, Meni can become a useful tool to support that process.
Every process is different. If today you feel like logging your day-to-day isn't helping, it doesn't mean you've failed or that it will never help you. Maybe this simply isn't the right moment, and prioritizing your emotional wellbeing is the best decision.
About the use of artificial intelligence
Because it allows logging information in natural language, without forcing you to fill out forms or pick closed-ended options, and then processing that information to find patterns that would be hard to see manually.
No. AI can make mistakes. That's why Meni doesn't make decisions for you or replace medical judgment. The information it generates is meant as support, not absolute truth.
Meni aims to help you see trends and signals, but it's always important to cross-check that information with your own experience and with health professionals.
About privacy and data
Meni doesn't store any data unless you choose to. During the “Welcome” process, we'll ask if you want to share your data with us. You can stop sharing your data at any time by changing this option in settings.
Meni is offered at no cost to users, and as explained above, by default you don't share your data unless you choose to.
If at some point you decide to share your data with us, some data processed anonymously or pseudonymously may be used in collaboration with third parties, such as researchers or organizations interested in this kind of information.
These uses are explained during the consent process.
The data you choose to share on Meni is processed and stored securely.
Some of the data generated from your logs may be used anonymously or pseudonymously for research, analysis, or for the development and sustainability of the project.
In all cases, the goal is that the information cannot identify you and is used to generate knowledge and improve tools like Meni.
Yes. You can stop using Meni at any time.
To request deletion of your personal data, you can do so directly from the app, in “Settings”.
We'll explain what information will be deleted, what data can't be deleted because it was processed anonymously, and the timeframes in which the process will be completed.
About this stage of the project
Yes. This is an early stage of the project, meant to learn, iterate, and improve the tool based on real use and feedback from the people using it.
At this initial stage, Meni is available only to iPhone users with Apple Intelligence support (currently, iPhone 16 or later, requiring iOS 18.4/iOS 26). For more information about Apple Intelligence: https://www.apple.com/apple-intelligence/
That's expected at this stage. Your feedback is key to improving Meni and making it more useful.
