For Health Professionals
A guide for health professionals who want to recommend Meni to their patients but have some questions.
Clinical Validity
DHI + personal experience and research with people
Meni's questionnaire was built by combining two sources: the DHI (Dizziness Handicap Inventory), a validated instrument widely used to measure the impact of vertigo and dizziness on daily life. Additional questions were also incorporated based on my own experience as a patient, and on exchanges with other people living with this condition. This work was part of the research I carried out during my Master's in Interactive Design.
If you're a health professional and have suggestions about the questionnaire, they're more than welcome. All proposals are reviewed and evaluated for inclusion based on clinical relevance. You can write to us through our contact form.
Security and privacy
Local on-device storage + local AI
As also explained in the “Frequently Asked Questions” section, the patient voluntarily decides whether to share their data, and it is used only for the purposes described in the consent process and the Privacy Policy.
Some key points that may be relevant to you as a professional:
•We don't request sensitive or identifying data: no ID numbers, contact details, or payment/card information.
•Questions are functional, not personal: they focus on everyday habits and experiences (how they felt, what they did, what they ate, etc.), not on data that could identify the person.
•The patient has full control: at any time they can decide to stop sharing their data or discontinue their participation.
Scope and limits
Meni doesn't replace medical judgment or the role of the health professional
Meni is a tool that helps the patient organize their daily habits and routines. This lets them identify possible patterns in their own experience and arrive at the appointment with more information and better questions, fostering a richer dialogue with the professional.
It's especially useful in managing chronic conditions, where living with a condition for a long time can lead to normalizing symptoms or situations that actually deserve attention. Meni aims to help make sure those patterns don't go unnoticed.
